Today we’re going to get to part 2 of the video that I shared in my last post. The idea when Mystery, Matador and me filmed this video was to share a debrief.
The idea with a debrief is to reflect back on the events of a previous outing because when we practice but don’t look back on what we did, then we’re not able to capture and duplicate our successes.
This is one of the most important things that Mystery first brought to the table when he became active in the community and started sharing content. He actually became famous in many ways for his written debriefs.
At first guys wondered if Mystery was making things up with his ideas about getting away from theory and getting in field to actually test new ideas and concepts and to keep what worked. Debriefing also allows us to eliminate mistakes.
Erik von Markovic, Mystery’s real name, was just an ordinary guy like so many folks just getting started right now. Just like other guys he had strengths and weaknesses.
One of his strengths were that he was a practicing street magician in Toronto. In candid conversations Erik fondly talks about still doing magic and performing great stunts.
(Mystery even goaded David Copperfield into a funny war of words when Mystery bragged he was the greatest magician in the world…whether he was doing that because he wanted to get a rise out of Copperfield or whether he meant it is still up in the air.)
But Erik also had his weaknesses. In this case his big weakness was that he was terrified of approaching women! He even confided to me that he still gets totally nervous each time he approaches!
He ended up leveraging his strength, that he could approach ordinary folks or couples on the streets of Toronto, into a legendary career as a person that some folks now call “the World’s Greatest Pick-up Artist.”
Here’s part 2 of that debrief:
My favorite part of this video comes when Mystery talks about the gift of letting women chase you.
It is a gift because girls are so used to being pursued that it’s exciting for them to think back to the days when meeting guys was still totally mysterious and unknown.
We’ll talk more about that in our next post coming soon!
It’s all happening,
